A Word for Today: Matthew 6:33
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." — Matthew 6:33 What a powerful reminder from God's Word! This verse was written thousands of years ago, yet it speaks with fresh relevance to our lives today. God's truth never grows old or loses its power. As you go through your day, carry this verse with you. When challenges arise, when doubts creep in, or when you feel overwhelmed, return to this promise. God's Word is alive and active, and it will accomplish what He intends.
I Will Always Be With You
"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, {even} unto the end of the world. Amen."
So, take a deep breath today and remember that Jesus is with you. He is your rock, your shelter, and your guiding light. Trust in His promise and know that He will see you through all of life's challenges.
Taste and See the Goodness of God
"O taste and see that the LORD {is} good: blessed {is} the man {that} trusteth in him."
As we navigate life's joys and challenges, it's easy to get caught up in the noise and forget the goodness of God. But today, I want to encourage you to take a moment to taste and see His goodness for yourself. Just like a delicious meal that satisfies our hunger, God's goodness can fill our souls with peace, comfort, and joy. It's not just a feeling, but a reality that we can experience when we trust in Him.
Delight in the Lord, Receive Your Heart's Desire
"Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."
Have you ever felt like you're searching for purpose or direction in life? Perhaps you've been praying for a specific desire or dream, but it seems like it's taking a long time to manifest. Psalm 37:4 reminds us that our joy and satisfaction come from delighting in the Lord, rather than just focusing on getting what we want. When we choose to prioritize our relationship with God, He promises to grant us the desires of our heart. This isn't a promise that He'll give us everything we want, but rather that He'll give us what's best for us and aligns with His plans for our lives.
A New Creation in Christ
"Therefore if any man {be} in Christ, {he is} a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. {he is: or, let him be}"
Today, we're reminded that being in Christ brings about a profound transformation. When we put our faith in Him, we become a new creature, free from the old patterns and habits that once held us back. It's a beautiful truth that all things become new - our hearts, our minds, our souls. The old is gone, and the new has arrived. This new creation in Christ is not just a feeling or a decision, but a reality that is rooted in the power of God's love. As we walk in this new life, we're called to put off the old and put on the new, to live out the character of Christ in every aspect of our lives.
Peace in the Midst of Storms
"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
So when the storms of life come - and they will - let's remember that our peace is not dependent on our circumstances. It's dependent on the presence of Jesus in our lives. Let's rest in His peace, and trust that He will see us through every trial.
Morning Faithfulness, New Every Day
"{They are} new every morning: great {is} thy faithfulness."
As we wake up each morning, we're given a fresh start. The world may be worn and weary, but God's faithfulness remains unwavering. In Lamentations 3:23, we're reminded that His faithfulness is great, and it's renewed every single day. Imagine walking into a new day with the knowledge that God's love, guidance, and provision are all available to you, no matter what challenges you face. This isn't just a promise; it's a reality that we can cling to, especially when faced with uncertainty. As you go about your day, hold onto this truth: God's faithfulness is new, and it's yours to receive.
God's Faithfulness in Times of Temptation
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God {is} faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear {it}. {common...: or, moderate}"
When we feel like giving up or losing our way, let's remember God's promise of faithfulness. He wants to help us overcome every obstacle and emerge stronger because of it. So, the next time you're faced with a tough choice or a tempting situation, take a deep breath and remember that God is with you. He's got your back, and He's given you the tools you need to succeed.
God's Promises: A Reminder to Pray
"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. {mighty: or, hidden}"
Have you ever felt lost or uncertain about the path ahead? Do you struggle to find the courage to move forward, unsure if you're making the right decisions? Today's verse offers a powerful reminder that God is always present and available to guide us. Jeremiah 33:3 promises that if we call out to Him, He will answer and reveal great and mighty things we don't even know about yet. This is a God who delights in revealing His plans and purposes to His children. So let's take a deep breath, calm our fears, and remember that our loving Father has a plan to prosper us, not to harm us. Let's call out to Him today and trust that He will show us His mighty ways.
