Courage in the Presence of God

"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God {is} with thee whithersoever thou goest."

As we face the challenges of life, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and uncertain about the future. But in today's verse, God reminds us that He is always with us. Joshua was about to lead the Israelites into a new land, and he could have been intimidated by the task ahead. But God's command to him is just as relevant for us today: 'Be strong and of a good courage' (Joshua 1:9). God's presence with us gives us the strength we need to face whatever comes our way. When we feel afraid or dismayed, we can turn to God and remember that He is our rock and our refuge.

Guarding Your Heart, Guiding Your Life

"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it {are} the issues of life. {with...: Heb. above all keeping}"

As we journey through life, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily responsibilities. However, the Bible reminds us that our heart is the most crucial aspect of our being. It's the source of our thoughts, emotions, and actions. Proverbs 4:23 warns us to keep our heart with all diligence, for out of it flow the issues of life. This means being intentional about what we let into our hearts, whether it's through the media we consume, the relationships we nurture, or the conversations we engage in. By being mindful of what we allow to shape our hearts, we can cultivate a deeper sense of purpose, wisdom, and joy.
